Miguel
thought it was a joke. He left his room and went to see his mother, who was
ironing. The mother told him it was not a joke. He told her that she could not
fire him and she replied that he gave her thirty days to leave, as is done in
jobs. The mother did not want to argue. She said she was going crazy because of
Miguel. Miguel insisted that he could not be fired because he was not of legal
age and his mother told him to find a lawyer, that this was not easy for her,
that she also had her rights and that, for her, the behavior of the child was a
form of torture. Miguel told him that he had not signed any contract at birth
and therefore that contract could not be terminated. His mother told him that
he had not fulfilled his part of the contract and that the dismissal was
non-negotiable. Miguel did not want to believe what was happening, but he began
to doubt everything.
